We’re Proud of our Youth Leaders
Troop 652 was well-represented at Lake Erie Council’s annual National Youth Training (NYLT) this week with 3 staff members and 5 participants. During the week-long training at Firelands Scout Reservation, the scouts learned valuable leadership skills that will benefit themselves and their troop for years to come. Help us congratulate these newly trained leaders!
Troop Fundraiser: Pop & Water Sale
Support our troop at Brecksville Home Days from June 19-21! Stop by the Troop 652 booth for a cold, refreshing beverage, speak with our leaders, or learn how to do a certain knot. Our water wagons will also be around during the event. Learn more about our troop fundraisers.
Beautiful Weather for a Canoeing Campout

652B had perfect weather for camping and canoeing the last weekend in May. We did an excursion with Grand River Kayak and Canoe while staying overnight at Beaumont Scout Reservation. It was great time with fun and friendship!
Conservation Clean-Up
Troop members participated in Lake Erie Council’s Trash the Trash Day on Saturday, May 2. We joined up with Riversweep and West Creek Conservancy to clean up the Big Creek/Lower Harvard area along Jennings Road and Bradley Road in Cleveland. The most exciting trash find was a jacuzzi tub!
Caving Adventure & Overnight
Our caving expedition took us to Ohio Caverns near Columbus, where we explored a cave discovered in 1890 when a sinkhole appeared on the hill of a farmer’s property. The cavern was filled with a very impressive amount of stalactites and stalagmites. The group – including troop scouts, Arrow of Light scouts, leaders, and parents – camped at Otter Run Scout Camp in the Simon Kenton Council, playing football and cooking gourmet pizzas and burgers.
Scout Sunday 2026
A Scout is Reverent. Scouting was well represented at St Basil’s Scout Sunday Mass on February 8. Thank you to our chartering organization for supporting our units, youth, and leaders!
BSR DinoQuest Adventure! Klondike
Troop 652B had an unforgettable winter expedition at Beaumont Scout Reservation for this year’s Klondike: DinoQuest Adventure! Patrols navigated a rugged trail of themed challenge stations, from tracking “dino prints,” to rescuing eggs from cunning predators, to mastering ancient survival skills inspired by the land before time. Each activity was designed to test Scout spirit, problem-solving, and cold-weather readiness, all while embracing the thrill of discovery. Our scouts wrapped up the day at the auction, winning awards and prizes after a day of adventure!
Congratulations, Alex!
Congratulations, Alex F., on passing your Eagle Board of Review and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout!
Recognizing and Celebrating our Troop’s Achievements
Our troop’s November court of honor celebrated members of Troop 652B and 652G. Our scouts earned an incredible 231 merit badges and 24 ranks, plus 2 adult leader awards! We also recognized and celebrated boys’ scoutmaster, Mr. Kevin Snyder, for his many years of servant leadership to Scouting and the troop. Mr. Snyder, who also served as the cubmaster for Pack 297 before becoming a scoutmaster at Troop 652, will be stepping down from his role at the end of 2025.
