Support Our Scouts

Look for the Troop 652 Pop & Water Sale at Brecksville Home Days!

………………..

The boys’ troop participates in or hosts fundraisers to generate funds for troop programming and operations in addition to equipment purchases and maintenance. Fundraisers can also help our families defray the individual costs of Scouting.

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is the pop and water sale held annually at Brecksville Home Days in June.

Other unit fundraisers include Lake Erie Council’s annual popcorn sale (fall), a maple syrup sale (spring), pancake breakfasts and spaghetti dinners, or other activity. Watch for announcements about upcoming events!

Are you interested in supporting Troop 652 and helping fund our learning, leadership development and outdoor adventures? Do you have a suggestion for a troop fundraiser? Would you like to make a donation to the boys and girls in our troop? Contact us.

Other Financial Support

The costs of Scouting can be high, and some families may need financial support to participate in adventures and activities. As the price of everything increases, it’s good to know that there are ways to raise funds, request support, and reduce out-of-pocket costs.

Camperships

  • Lake Erie Council: Offers camperships for high adventures, summer camp, NYLT, and Wood Badge. Camperships are awarded based upon need, full completion of the application, and timeliness. The committee will review the applications and set award amounts. Once approved, the Council will notify families, and apply the award amount to the scout’s event registration.
  • Memorial Scout Camp, The MC Campership Program: Makes camperships available to any scout from any scouting organization, upon the recommendation of his / her scout group leader. Five memorial camperships are awarded annually. Camperships are available for any long-term camping experience that will occur during the current calendar year.

Scholarships

  • Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) Program: Provides funds for students and families to use on various enrichment and educational activities including tutoring, day camps, music lessons, study skills services and field trips.
  • BSA Philmont Scout Ranch: Offers a scholarship application for this high adventure. Available for any unit or individual with a demonstrated need.
  • BSA Sea Base: Offers a scholarship application for this high adventure. Available for any unit or individual (youth/adult) with a demonstrated need.

Product Sales

  • Popcorn Sales: Individuals can sell popcorn through Lake Erie Council and raise funds for their scouting activities.
  • Scout’s Own Sales: Consider selling maple syrup and products offered through Lake Erie Council.
  • Country Meats Snack Sticks: Do a meat stick sale, an easy fundraiser option for school clubs, sports teams, scout troops, individual scouts, and any other nonprofit group.

Donations of Gear & Equipment

Our troop supports our scouts and their families with gear swaps and exchanges. We also accept donations of needed equipment and supplies for troop operations.

A Scout is Thrifty… Take an item, share an item! Youth can quickly outgrow uniforms, clothing, boots, gear, and equipment. With support, our troop leaders can help with finding necessary items for camping and activities. Troop families are asked and encouraged to share gently-used items with the troop that can be used by other troop families. Speak with the troop scoutmaster or committee chair for more information. You can also send an email to inquire.
