February Polar Bear
Every campout has a playlist, even when it's cold! In February, our monthly campout was crisp, clear, dry and enjoyable for everyone. Scouts earned their Polar Bear Award by camping in tents and staying outside in below-freezing temps for more than 24 hours. Everyone enjoyed tunes by the fire keeping themsleves warm and entertained during the weekend outing.

Klondike Provides Cold Weather, Snow, and Outdoor Fun!
Our troops participated in Lake Erie Council's National Parks Klondike in January. With some crazy winter weather and a big storm impacting the area, an intrepid group of scouts and leaders headed into the Great Outdoors for a Scouting competition and winter activities at Beaumont Scout Reservation. The annual Klondike is a fun competition where scouts visit stations and compete to earn points. The event concludes with an auction for items and gear that can be used by the troop. Our boys' troop was thrilled to win a new heavy-duty wagon and other useful camping gear at this year's event.

BH Councilman Visits Troop 652
Special thanks to Broadview Heights Ward 2 Councilman Brian Wolf for visiting our January 3 troop meeting! Mr. Wolf spoke with our scouts about being a public official and having a positive effect on the community. His visit helped fulfill rank and merit badge requirements for troop members in 652B and 652G.

Showing, Teaching Arrows About Troop Life
In early November, we welcomed Arrow of Light dens at a campout to help them fulfill advancement requirements. Our scouts demonstrated leadership and all points of the Scout Law while showing the Arrows what it means to be a Troop 652 scout. Would you like to visit our troop? Contact us!

Fun Times at Firelands Fall Camporee
Our troop attended Lake Erie Council's fall camporee at Firelands Scout Reservation in early October. We did shooting sports, apple smash, team building activities, camp cooking, and built a bench for all to enjoy at our campsite’s fire ring.

A Century of Manatoc
In late September, Troop 652B had the opportunity to attend Camp Manatoc's 100th Anniversary weekend celebration. The Manatoc Cent-O-Ree organizers reported that 2,700 visitors from many different regions attended the large event which featured many historical activities and displays. A weekend highlight was the landing of an U.S. Army Chinook helicopter on the Manatoc parade field.
