Supporting a Scouting Heritage
Troop 652B recently visited Camp Tuscazoar in Dover, Ohio. Camp Tuscazoar is a retired BSA camp and Ohio's most historic camp. The camp, operated by a nonprofit foundation, hosted Maple Days on March 17-18 with an annual pancake breakfast to support the camp. Our troop gladly supported the foundation by attending and enjoying the pancake breakfast. Plus, scouts did advancements, merit badges, learned about Scouting history, hiked to the Dover Dam, and honed their cooking skills. See photos of our weekend campout at www.facebook.com/BSATroop652B
Scout Sunday 2023
A Scout is Reverent. On February 12, our troop had the honor of celebrating Scout Sunday with the parishioners of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church plus fellow Scouts of Cub Scout Pack 652 and BSA Girls Troop 652. We were happy to participate in the mass and are glad to be part of the parish community. See more photos of the celebration at www.facebook.com/BSATroop652B
Helping Hands at John Paul II Retreat
Scouts and leaders from 652B were happy to provide service to our chartering organization, assisting at a large event lunch during the parish-hosted John Paul II Retreat in February. We helped the St. Basil Hospitality Team clean up the Family Life Center after hosting over 500 hungry people from all over North America.
Do a Good Turn Daily
Doing a good turn (or two) this week: Troop 652B and Troop 652G cut fabric to be made into capes for hospital-bound kids in need of support and encouragement. This is the second year our troops enjoyed being creative and supporting Kids Capes of Courage. 652B also helped our chartering organization, St. Basil the Great, with a large event lunch service during the John Paul II Retreat.
Taking on the Aqilokoq Klondike Derby
In late January, troop members competed in Lake Erie Council's Aqilokoq Klondike Derby at Beaumont Scout Reservation. Patrols participated in team building competitions and activities to earn points. Older, experienced scouts helped our newer, younger troop members accomplish tasks along the way while having a great time playing in the snow (and trying to build the biggest snowball ever!). Points were used at an evening auction to bid on and win needed items and gear for the troop including a new hatchet, tarps, a case of snacks, Gorilla tape and a collapsible dish tub. A ‘Whirly’ Good Time
652B knows how to have fun indoors and out! Troop members recently enjoyed a holiday celebration with an outing at Whirlyball in Bedford Heights.
652B Gives Thanks
When it comes to Scouting, our troop members, leaders and parents are thankful for many things. This Thanksgiving, we're sharing the things we are most grateful for on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BSAtroop652B Whether you're involved in Scouting or not, we're certain that everyone has something special that is worth acknowledging in 2022.
