Welcome, Troop 652 for Girls!
Starting February 1, 2019, Boy Scouts of America opened up its iconic scouting program for older youth ages 11-17 (formerly known as Boy Scouts) to young women. This program, Scouts BSA, offers the same rank advancement, merit badge earning, and outdoor activity opportunities for young men and young women.
Troop 652 welcomes the new troop for girls at St. Basil’s. The troop was founded with 6 girls and continues to grow. Visit 652G’s website.
They attended the Lake Erie Council Scout Me In Launch event on February 23, 2019 where 100 new girl members of BSA recited the Scout Oath and Law. See WOIO TV-19’s coverage of this event.
The boy troop and girl troop share the same troop number. They will operate independently but also work together on events such as camping, service projects, and fundraising.
